The Nolani Academy mission - Guild Wars Forums

I have a few problems with this mission, I hope someone can help me.

1) When I started this mission I couldn't find prince rurik. I saw his health bar going down but I couldn't find him. So, is prince rurik supposed to go with you outside the academy?

2) When I defeated the boss I tried to walk to the wall that leaves the academy. I don't exectly know what happened but I was teleported to that wall. Aren't you supposed to walk there?

You probably opened the gate and Rurik rushed outside, to the wall. That's why he was taking damage -- he was running through the charr out there. Once he reaches the wall guard, the cutscene is triggered.

The only way you really have a chance at the bonus is to keep the door closed and go out the back way (you'll see a lone charr run off in that direction when the mission begins). You can retrieve the tome, return it to its place, then fight your way back to where Rurik is. When you kill the boss, the door will open and the two of you can go out to the wall together unhindered.

As for the part after the cutscene, there's an obvious way and an easy way. Spoilers ahoy!

Its as Star Jewel said you go out the back and find yourself approaching the gate from the other side later on.

When you get too close the gate opens and Rurick runs out so kill off as many charr as you can so he doesn't suicide on you.

You are supposed to sneak out the back door, not open the front. I did that once but thank goodness I was running with a fraction character so had heroes at level 20.

Try the wiki for maps or the IGMM textmod.

. But when I did that mission I didn't open the main door. I left trough the eastern exit. I don't know why but the prince wasn't following me. I only saw he was taking damage, but he got healed too. (I really don't know who could have healed him

)

I'd like some more answers if possible

When you leave by the back entrance Ruric does not follow you you do the first part ie the bonus without him.
When you fight your way back through the charr and defeat the boss nearest the gate it opens and Ruric comes out.

He can be ambushed by a large charr party to your left as you are facing the gate.
Its at that point that Ruric follows you till the end of the mission.

You still have a couple of cut scenes and a lot of charr to fight through and its possible to lose him there by taking on too many at once.

If done right you will have your party plus Ruric and up to 5 soldiers with you.
When you have done it as a zaishen quest several dozen times it becomes routine but like any mission the first few times are the toughest.

Yes you can redo them as many times as you wish. And you can do bonuses and main mission goals separately.

Yes. you can do them over and over and over to your hearts content. Once you finish them in NM (Normal Mode) (which you are doing right now) you can then do them all over in HM (Hard Mode).

I know what you are thinking... "it can be harder then this?!"
